My Nana always told me you could catch birds if you salted their tails.

Never could get close enough to one to verify this but boy did I try !

Perhaps she just wanted me out of her hair for a while ?  Undecided  Cry

Sounds an awful like when my grandma would tell me to go out and chase chickens... I've never seen a woman so mad, as when I caught one... lol

When great grand mamma had too many small visitors she would send us out to feed the ants.  If you feed them outside, they will not come into the house.  Each child would be given a small amount of sugar and would be instucted to give each ant no more than two grains, as it is bad for their teeth.  Kept us occupied for hours.  Modern children may be more sophisticated.
