Our recent homestead property has this aged, yet fairly stable pole shed that we intend to modify to a chicken coop/roost on one half and enclose for a rabbit hutch the opposite side. Will run a wire fence out the front to  around 12x40' to create a "free range" run for both species.

I raise my rabbits in hutches.  In France they raise rabbits free range in big pens, but I have never had any luck with that method.
Rabbits in large colonies, in my experience tend to spend too much time fighting and wasting energy that could be going into meat production.
Ten million Frenchmen can't be all wrong though.  Keep us posted.
