Not as exciting as some of the rest, but this is one of my new lamps.

These Aladdin's are super high quality and will definitely be something for generations to come.
This is the Lincoln drape, and I also have a Genie III.

I fired up the Genie and it cranks out some serious light and heat - perfect for storms and saving on the electric bill.

This one I wanted to electrify and keep the burner on hand in case of emergency.
Found a NOS electric burner on ebay for $9 and polished it all up instead of buying one for $50 new.

I'm just in love with these old fashioned styles.
More (better) pictures to come, including my Den Haan gimbal.

If it's your first one, I'd strongly recommend additional mantles.
If you've ever used a Coleman or LP gas light you'll know they are suspended dust after initial burn off.
It doesn't take much at all to lose one.

The first one I got was the Genie III with two extra mantles and an extra chimney.
When the extra money is available I'd like to order the three year kit of parts.

Tried a couple different shades on it but they don't quite look right to me because it sits so low.

The shades are great, but figure on an extra $100 between it and the ring.
It is a lifetime investment though.

I think we need to set aside a time when you turn off all electrical stuff.... At night.
Sit with your family in front of a fire in the fireplace, or in a room lighted by olive oil lamps and just relax and enjoy family.
No blairing TV, or time stealing internet, a good book would be nice if you are alone, but it can be a struggle reading by candle light, I have done that many a many a night in the Dominican Republic. A very good lamp works better.

I need to talk to the Queen and see if she would go for that?
It would be a time of peace to look forward to.

A normal day for me is doing stuff wide open from the time I wake at 5:00am until fatigue persuades me to turn out the light and close my eyes and 12:00 midnight.
I got used to running on 5 hours of sleep, but it is not good for me. Huh
I do sleep in until 7am or so every now and then to catch up...

Johnny,

Karnie and I have double recliners in the living room. She has a desktop computer next to hers, and I have a netbook sitting on the arm of mine. The tv is on the opposite wall from us, and she has the remote.

I think that if I tried to get the remote, I might find out where she hides her 9 mm over there. If I turn off her computer, I will quickly find out where she has it.

I don't think I'm kidding... I may be in danger.

We have the same setup, but both have desk top computers.
We have his and hers recliners with a table between. We each have a desktop computer set up next to the recliner.
Keyboard goes in your lap and an optical mouse works on the arm of the recliner.
Across from us in a 63" TV and a stone fireplace.
Life is...... well, more comfortable than we deserve. But, I am very thankful to have been able to work those long hard hours to earn a living and afford a little comfort for my Queen. Without her I would have no purpose. Almost everything I do is motivated by her. Sad Cool

As promised a couple more pictures.

Notice the shelf style Genie III doesn't look so hot with a shade - this is the caboose style one.
Can't find anything I like so may just take it off.

Also here is a picture of the Den Haan gimbaled berth lamp.
It weights a ton and has a very solid feel.
What I like about it is that it can go 50 hours on 11 oz of fuel - way less than an Aladdin.
