Things to plant that are perennial and livestock feeds.  Easily gathered and even multi use.

I have heard of mesquite pods being fed to stock in Texas. We are near Chattanooga Tn.  So mesquite won't grow here.  Invasive bamboo will and stays green all year.  Our goats love it.  Feeding it for an afternoon treat keeps the rumen happy.  Makes great gardening poles when dried too.  It would be awful if kudzu sprang up on our property.  Any more suggestions?

Yep, sunchokes are easy to grow, I am growing sweet blue lupin seeds which produce  lot of seeds which are good stock feed. They add nitrogen to the soil also. You can also grow chicken scratch, or buy a sack of milo, it will produce a lot of grain. Wild quail and dove love it too.

Sweet blue piping seeds.  Is there a source?  Or are they rare?
