We're near Tulsa. About the smallest parcel I've seen around here is 2 1/2 acres -5 acres. But, it's outside of city limits and you can do dang near anything you want.

Rural real estate guru around here is:

John Walenciak (pronounced wall en check)
918-638-0805

or google his website. he's got a stellar reputation around here.

Smiley Thanks everyone. Yes this is a home site with out an address yet. This land has never had an address. I am considering a small 2 bedroom (805 square foot) straw bale house. The construction method I am leaning to is timber frame skeleton with the straw bales. The Skeleton I think will be 6x6 pressure treaded timber from lowes. Now if I could just figure out the roofing system. The stem wall will be 17" wide 32" deep. 16" below ground and 16" above ground with  possibly a ramed earth floor. This consists of 2" layer of road base (this is used for highways) and 4" of a clay, earth mixture, but I think I will add a bit of portland cement for strength.

Wow land is so cheap over there, here it would cost so much (£100,000) to get a couple of acres with a house or so you can build a house. I am thinking I need to move to Spain to get a decent plot of land :S. Congratulations on your land purchase Cheesy.

Maybe all us homesteaders should get together buy a dessert somewhere and change it into homestead paradise it would probably be quite cheap to buy a dessert.  Wink

Just make sure we border the ocean Smiley. Salt water is pretty easy to desalinate especially in a hot place like a dessert Cheesy.

If we start a fund to buy a dessert count me in for 5 acres or $100 which ever comes first.
