I used to work for an old timer who was around back in the Great Depression. He had problems eating tomatoes due to their acidity, and he had a great solution according to him, and he used it without exception.

He said that to remove the acidity in tomatoes, when the tomatoes are young and just transplanted, you:
mix Epson Salts
and Carnation Milk
at a 1:1 ration and dilute and water at the base of the tomatoes.

Anyone ever heard of this?

Interesting, I haven't heard about that. I know the are chemicals in the deadly nightshade family (tomatoes, potatoes and bell peppers) that when eaten in quantity some claim to give you stomach and extreme causes arthritis I believe. I limit my eating of them as my body doesn't seem to mix well with them.

I never heard that?HuhHuh
They do have white tomatoes that are low in acid, but I have had little luck with them, the yellow pear produce like crazy and the are lower in acid I believe.

I think the acid is what makes them taste so good!!  I probably am a little sensitive, but they are worth it! LOL!
