Johnny, have you changed the itunes feed ? I am getting duplicate downloads again, so I now have 3 copies of each of some of the older shows and two of the current shows.

THAT IS STRANGE  SO SOME SHOWS ARE DOWNLOADING TWICE AND SOME ARE NOT DOWNLOADING? MUST BE YOUR SETTING IN ITUNES, I CHECKED MINE AND IT DID NOT DOWNLOAD ANY UNLESS I PRESS THE GET BUTTON  |

I dont think it is my settings in itunes, I noticed it the past few days ( maybe longer ) last night I looked up and saw a show downing and thought Hey a new show .. then noticed it was from mid of last year. The same thing the other day when I check into the hotel. My only change has been which wifi I am connected to as I move around this week. Since I have every show the only time I saw this was when you had change the feed from one server to the other and I got all the shows again.

Something is gooing on with the RSS feed also. It is showing 61 new shows each time I open IE.

I had deleted those but they came back so I left it alone. So if you delete the duplicates see if it comes back again. I was just concerned that these duplicates would start over loading your limit. |

i am finally on a fast connection and let it finish redownloading the shows. there does not seem to be a pattern though, a few of the current shows 110,109,108, 107 are single, then 106 is double, 105 is single, then two 104 and 103, then three 102, then two 101, then goes by twos .. I just noticed there was no show 92 ?? ..
Also, to add to the mix, some I have 4 shows, like below
two ssHomestead-72 That Second Job
two SSHOMESTEAD-072 That Second Job
Notice the SS vs ss and -72 vs -072
but show 70, I have one "ss" and three "SS" shows
Hope that helps in figuring out why it suddenly decided to do that. Could it be pulling from two separate feeds ? The good part is my ipod now thinks I have new shows to listen to so I can go back over them again. I forgot you have been on for so long.

I'm not very computer/podcast literate, but it seems to happen to me shortly after you announce you've made a major change to the feed. I use ITunes, so can only speak for that. It' not really a big deal, I just don't download the new appearances of the show and I only receive one copy of the new shows.

When I get home tonight ( I get to go home today YAY !!! ) I will try to relook at everything and see what I am missing. I have not really worked with RSS feeds and how Itunes handles them so I may be stumped for a few days. If I am correct, other then when you moved to the new hosting server last year, you have not changed the feed correct ? When you did change to the new host, did you have to rewrite the feed for the older shows to show up ? |
